Ski Pad from Hospital Aids UK.
The original padded evacuation mat, for the quick and safe movement of mobility impaired individuals in an emergency.
The Ski Pad was one of the original evacuation mattresses for the quick and safe evacuation of non-ambulant individuals in emergencies.
Designed for use in areas where space is limited, such as congested hospital wards and buildings with narrow corridors or single width fire doors. Ideal for use with patients who need to be moved in a supine position or are unable to sit in a stair evacuation chair.
In the event of an emergency the Ski Pad is easily removed from it’s storage bag. The individual is quickly transferred to the Ski Pad and secured in place using the highly visible seat belt style straps. While being moved the individual is protected by a 5cm thick foam pad. The tough, slippery, vinyl coated base means that the pad moves easily over indoor and outdoor surfaces so the individual can be safely and quickly evacuated.
The ski pad can be manufactured individually for the varying requirements of our customers. For example, a Mini Ski Pad is produced for children and a Double Thickness Ski Pad is made for individuals with brittle bones.
Ski Pad: SKIP01
With Extra Strap: SKIP03
The Ski Sheet from Hospital Aids UK.
The original on the bed evacuation sheet, designed to securely cocoon patients within their mattress for swift movement in emergency situations.
The Ski Sheet was the original evacuation device specifically designed for use in hospitals and other care facilities. The Ski Sheet enables care staff to quickly and safely move non-ambulant individuals to a place of safety in an emergency, while securely cocooned within their mattress.
The sheet is easily fitted to the underside of the users mattress using the four elastic corner straps and there it remains in place at all times, allowing it to be instantly accessible. The straps of the Ski Sheet are stored in discreet pockets on the underside of the sheet.
In an emergency the straps are simply removed from their storage pockets and secured over the individual. The user can then be slid off the bed using the head/foot end handles and taken to safety.
The Ski Sheet features seat belt style metal buckles for the ultimate patient safety and security when moving down staircases. Made from strong nylon, for a low friction resistance, the Ski Sheet is easy to keep clean.
The Ski Sled evacuation mat is an upgraded version of the popular Ski Pad mattress, with further emphasis on usability. The narrow width and flexibility allows the occupant to be slid through standard doorways, along corridors and down narrow staircases with little effort.
When needed in an emergency the Ski Sled is removed from its wall mountable storage bag, the individual is quickly transferred on to the mat, secured in place using the seatbelt style straps and taken to safety.
The tough, slippery base (which is different to that of the Ski Pad) enables individuals to be moved easily over virtually any internal or external surface. The foam of the Ski Sled has nylon support struts which provide added support and protection to the occupant while being moved.
Other features of the Ski Sled include: four control handles (two each side) for extra manoeuvrability, a large pleated foot pocket, head and foot end ladder handles and three securing cross straps with NHS approved IMMI safety buckles.
Ski Slide Pad from Hospital Aids UK.
Evacuation mat featuring built in slide sheets for ease of transfer.

The use of the built-in slide sheets is especially useful for individuals who require a greater level of assistance during the transfer process and helps to protect carers from manual handling injuries. The slide sheets can also be used as an extra cover, where exterior evacuation is required.
In the event of an emergency, the Ski-Slide-Pad is easily removed from its storage bag. The individual is quickly transferred on to the Ski-Slide-Pad, using the slide sheet and then secured onto the device with the seatbelt style straps.
The Ski-Slide-Pad’s polyethylene base allows the pad to be pulled easily over most surfaces and is easy to control when going down a staircase.
